Sourav Gurjar is an Indian professional wrestler and actor. He is primarily known for his work with WWE, where he performed under the ring name Sanga. Before his WWE career, Gurjar had a background in other sports, including kickboxing and mixed martial arts. He represented India in several international kickboxing competitions and also participated in MMA events. His transition to professional wrestling came after participating in WWE's tryouts in India.
Gurjar signed with WWE in 2018 and was assigned to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, to begin his training. He initially worked in WWE's developmental brand, NXT, where he honed his wrestling skills and developed his character. During his time in NXT, he was part of a tag team known as Indus Sher, alongside Rinku Singh (Veer Mahaan). Indus Sher aimed to represent Indian strength and heritage, often displaying a dominant and powerful presence in the ring.
In 2021, Gurjar was called up to the WWE main roster, appearing on the Raw brand alongside Rinku Singh as a part of Jinder Mahal's stable. This marked a significant step in his WWE career, giving him exposure to a larger audience and allowing him to compete on a global stage. As Sanga, he continued to portray a physically imposing character, often acting as an enforcer for Jinder Mahal. Beyond wrestling, Gurjar has also ventured into acting, appearing in Indian television shows and films, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
