Shreyas Iyer - A Lifestory

Shreyas Iyer, born on December 6, 1994, in Mumbai, is an aggressive Indian batsman and a strong leader. Trained under Pravin Amre at Shivaji Park Gymkhana, he gained attention in school cricket, earning the nickname "Young Viru" for his attacking style. He shone in the 2014-15 Ranji Trophy season, scoring over 1,300 runs, which led to his IPL selection. Joining Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2015, he won the Emerging Player award and later became captain in 2018, leading them to their first IPL final in 2020. Iyer debuted for India in 2017, scored a century on his Test debut (105) against New Zealand in 2021, and played a key role in India's 2023 World Cup campaign. Despite suffering a shoulder injury in 2021, he made a strong comeback in IPL 2022. Off the field, he enjoys music, fashion, and social media, making him one of India's most exciting cricketing talents.
