Bold Colors, Timeless Forms: A Painter'S Profound Vision
A giant of modern Indian art, he left a big mark on art around the world. His work, over many years, showed how his style changed. It was a mix of shapes and bright colors, often inspired by India's scenery and its spiritual ideas. Born in Bhopal in 1922, he first learned art at the Jabalpur School of Art. He went to Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1946, joining a group of artists who wanted to try new things and move away from old ways of making art. His art changed a lot; it showed his own growth and what he was thinking about. He learned from many different places, creating his own special style. Early works showed the effect of French Impressionism and Cubism, but later works, especially from the 1970s on, became more abstract and symbolic. He was interested in the bindu, a key idea in Hindu beliefs, the starting point of creation. He said, "Bindu is the origin, the beginning, the essence." His art wasn't just pretty; it was a spiritual journey, showing his inner self. He showed his art all over the world, becoming wellknown in France, where he lived for a long time. His paintings are in important collections everywhere, showing his lasting effect on art. He died in 2016, leaving a legacy that still inspires many. People often said his work was "visually stunning" and "deeply moving," showing how powerful his art was.
