Satyananda Saraswati - A Lifestory
Yoga Master: Awakening Consciousness, Transforming Lives, Spreading Ancient Wisdom

A bright light in the world of Yoga, left a lasting mark on how it spread across the world. He was more than just a teacher; he had a clear view of the future and mixed old wisdom with today's life. Born in 1923, he started a spiritual trip that led him to become a student of Swami Sivananda in 1943. He learned about yoga and Vedanta from Swami Sivananda. Following Swami Sivananda's advice, he gave his life to sharing the life changing power of yoga. In 1963, he started the Bihar School of Yoga, a place that became very important for yoga learning and study. The Bihar School of Yoga focused on a full approach to yoga, including body positions (asanas), breathing methods (pranayama), thinking, and yogic ideas. Unlike someone looking for understanding in a movie like "Eat Pray Love," his path wasn't just about himself. His goal was to help people, shown by his starting the Sivananda Math, a charity. He traveled a lot, sharing his teachings around the world, like a spiritual messenger bringing yoga to different cultures. He wrote over 80 books, giving advice and thoughts on yoga practices. He died in 2009, but his work still motivates many people on their yoga journey.
