Ruth Manorama - A Lifestory

Someone is known for always working for what is fair in society. This person, a well known Dalit social worker, has spent many years fighting for the rights and worth of people who are not treated well in India. Think of this person as the main character in a strong social movie, like "Article 15", where the hard truths of judging people based on their background are shown. This person's work is not just about being active; it is about making a more equal society, step by step. Since the 1980s, this person's voice has been heard across the country, questioning unfair systems and pushing for women and Dalits to have more power. This person does not avoid tough talks; instead, this person welcomes them, much like the important talks about social change that happened at the Beijing Women's Conference in 1995. This person's promise goes beyond just talking; this person has worked hard in communities, asking leaders to be responsible, and helping those who need it most. In 2006, this person won the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the Alternative Nobel Prize, for doing great things for human rights. Even with these awards, this person mainly focuses on making sure the voices of those not heard are louder and making sure everyone can live a life of worth and respect.
