Jag Mundhra was an IndianAmerican film director, producer, and screenwriter, primarily known for his work in Bollywood and Hollywood. While he initially pursued a career in electrical engineering, earning a master's degree from the University of Michigan, his passion for cinema led him to transition into filmmaking. He began his career in the United States, directing lowbudget exploitation films before gaining recognition for his more mainstream projects.
Mundhra's filmography is diverse, encompassing a range of genres from thrillers and dramas to erotica and social commentary. Some of his notable Hollywood films include "The Jigsaw Murders" and "Open House." He often explored themes of sexuality, violence, and cultural clashes in his work, sometimes courting controversy with his provocative subject matter.
In the late 1980s, Mundhra shifted his focus to Bollywood, directing and producing several Hindi films.
