Asha Parekh, born on October 2, 1942, in Mumbai, is a renowned Indian actress, film director, and producer, celebrated for her work in Hindi cinema. She began her career as a child artist in 1952 and became a leading actress in the 1960s, starring in iconic films like Teesri Manzil (1966), Kati Patang (1970), Padosan (1968), and Caravan (1971). Trained in classical dance, she was known for her graceful screen presence and versatile roles. Asha also ventured into directing and producing, with Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978) being her notable directorial debut. Despite a long association with actor Nasser Hussain, she never married, choosing her career over marriage. She received the Padma Shri in 1992 for her contribution to the arts.
