He was born in New Delhi, India, on 04 February 1949. His life and writing were as rich and had many parts, like the places he often wrote about. He grew up in Kashmir, a place that really changed his work. It gave his work a feeling of both a perfect place and a big loss. He went to good schools like the University of Delhi, the Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Arizona. These things helped him get better at writing poems, making him the famous writer we know now. People often said his writing style was nice and easy to read. It joined ideas from the East and the West. Ali’s poems, known for their beautiful and deep feelings, looked at ideas of being away from home, who he was, and the hard parts of love. His books, like The Country Without a Post Office (1997) and Rooms Are Never Finished (2001), made him wellknown and gave him many awards.
