Abdul Hamid - A Lifestory
Havildar: Duty, Dedication, And Unwavering Service To The Nation

A person known for being brave and giving their life for his country was more than just someone in the army; he showed how much he cared for India. He was a Company Quarter Master Havildar in the Indian Army. His story is about being brave and shows the spirit of a country. Think of him as a hero from real life, even better than any character in movies like 'Border'. Instead, he was the main person in a real battle. He was born in 1933. He joined the 4 Grenadiers group. His friends in the army liked him because he was calm and a good leader, even when things were hard. What he did during the 1965 Indo Pak war, especially the Battle of Asal Uttar on 10 September 1965, made him famous. He faced many Pakistani Patton tanks but still destroyed several tanks by himself with his gun. His bravery made the other soldiers feel strong, which helped India win the battle. Sadly, he died during the battle. He was given the Param Vir Chakra, India's top award for soldiers, after his death. His story still makes people feel inspired, reminding everyone that being a true hero means helping your country without thinking of yourself. He lived by the saying, "Help others before yourself".
